Interviews The job interview is a powerful factor in the employee selection process in most organizations. While the job interview may not deserve all of the attention that the job interview receives, it is still a powerful force in hiring.
Here are some obvious basic tips:
* Be punctual. Reach the venue ten minutes in advance. Cater for traffic delays.
* Dress presentably.
* Do your homework about the company you have applied for. Paragon always gives you basic details and links to the prospective employers web site. Study it.
* Be prepared for standard questions. “Why do you want to change?” may seem like an irrelevant question – it isn’t. The response can reveal a lot about you. Be candid – ‘want to grow professionally’, ‘want more salary’, ‘have saturated in present assignment’, ‘opportunity to save on commuting time’ --- these are all reasonable and acceptable answers. Don’t deride your current company / employer.
Give a Feedback
When your interview has been set up by Paragon (or any Recruitment Consultancy), its always very useful to give a feedback –
* That you did attend the interview
* The name of the person you met
* How, in your opinion, did the interview go
* Whether you have been advised by the prospective employer that you have been short-listed for a further interview
This helps recruiters like Paragon take suitable follow-up action. |
